For Referrers

Growing Together Clinic welcomes referrals from GPs, paediatricians, and allied health professionals across Brisbane and the surrounding western suburbs. Our integrated model of care is designed to make the referral process straightforward and the experience for your patients as coordinated and efficient as possible.

About Our Clinic

Growing Together Clinic is an integrated paediatric and general practice clinic located in Indooroopilly, Brisbane. We bring together General Practitioners with expertise in developmental and behavioural medicine and a Consultant Paediatrician within one collaborative practice.

Our model is designed to reduce the delays and duplication that families often experience when navigating developmental and paediatric care across multiple providers. By coordinating assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management within our practice, we provide a more efficient pathway for both families and referrers.

Growing Together Clinic operates an integrated GP and Paediatrician model of care. All paediatric referrals to Dr McVinish are generated internally through our GP, Dr Marium Rind. Families attending the clinic must first be seen by our GP before a referral to the Paediatrician is made. This ensures every patient’s care is coordinated, informed, and efficient from the very first appointment.

If you are an external GP or allied health professional with a patient you believe would benefit from paediatric assessment at Growing Together Clinic, please contact us directly to discuss the most appropriate pathway for your patient.

How Our Model Works for Your Patients

When you refer a patient to Growing Together Clinic, their care follows our integrated three-step pathway:

1

GP Developmental Assessment

All patients begin with an extended consultation with our GP, who has a special interest in developmental and behavioural medicine. This consultation gathers a full developmental and medical history, reviews existing reports and investigations, applies structured screening tools, and develops an individualised care plan. This ensures that any subsequent paediatric consultation is focused and informed from the outset.

2

Internal Paediatric Referral

Where specialist paediatric assessment is indicated, our GP refers directly to our onsite Consultant Paediatrician. Because the groundwork has already been completed, the paediatric consultation can focus on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning without duplication of history-taking or investigations.

3

Ongoing Shared Care

Following diagnosis and initial specialist management, most ongoing care is provided by our GP in close consultation with the Paediatrician. This includes medication management, review appointments, care plans, school support documentation, and allied health coordination. GP appointments are bulk billed, making ongoing care more accessible and affordable for families.
